Date: June 30, 2026
Time: 2:00 - 3:30pm
Location: Orleans, MA
Explore the beautiful Namequoit Wood Conservation Area, a 25.79-acre waterfront property protected by the Orleans Conservation Trust. Once home to Camp Viking, a boys’ summer camp operating from the 1940s through the 1980s, the property is now managed primary for habitat preservation and ecological restoration thanks to an anonymous donation of the land to OCT in 2023. Participants will see OCT’s rewilding efforts firsthand and learn more about the nearly 50 acres of contiguous conservation land stretching from the Namequoit River through Namequoit Wood.
To protect sensitive wildlife habitat, public access is limited to guided walks. This walk is available exclusively to OCT members (supporters who give $50+ annually for individuals or $100+ for families). Learn more about membership with OCT or renew your membership on our website.
Meet up location and parking instructions will be provided to registrants prior to the event.
