Public education is central to the mission of the Trust — and the heart of our educational outreach is OCT’s lecture series. For many years we’ve been hosting informative and entertaining presentations at the Orleans Yacht Club on a wide range of conservation-related topics.

You might learn about the latest shark research, the state of Cape fisheries or the reshaping of our coastlines, how to incorporate ecological design in your garden or landscape, amazing shorebird migrations, or how climate change is impacting our region. And that’s just scratching the surface.

All programs are free and open to the public. Talks start promptly at 6:30 pm, but come at 6:00 pm to mingle with like-minded community members and enjoy a drink from the cash bar. Presentations end with a Q&A.

See below for upcoming and past talks in the series; you’ll also find occasional one-time educational programs hosted by OCT.

“I always learn something new from OCT speakers, even when I think I know all about the topic being discussed."

— Steve O’Grady, OCT Director
