Darius Coombs is the Cultural Outreach Coordinator for the Mashpee Wampanoag Education Department and will discuss the lives and history of Wampanoag people on Cape Cod. Learn about the Wampanoags’ relationship with the land and what colonization meant to their culture. Darius was the Director of the Wampanoag Indigenous Program at Plimoth/Patuxet Museums for over 30 years, and has worked with many educational organizations such as the Smithsonian, National Geographic and the History Channel.
The lecture will take place at the Nauset Regional Middle School Auditorium, 78 Eldredge Park Way, Orleans.
