AmeriCorps National Day of Service
April 9th, 2013 was declared a national day of service by AmeriCorps nationwide in order to recognize Mayor’s day of recognition for national service. Mayors in towns and cities across the country will be visiting sites where Americorps has had an impact on the local community. On the cape the Barnstable County Commissioners will be visiting four major sites where AmeriCorps Cape Cod has done a significant amount of projects on the past few years.
Tuesday April 9th at 9:00am join AmeriCorps Cape Cod, the Orleans Conservation Trust, and Town of Orleans Tree Department at Uncle Harvey’s Town Landing in Orleans, MA. The day will involve removing invasive plants that have sprouted back up on the property and doing further planting of native groundcover. So bring a pair of work gloves and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and come for an enjoyable day of service!
