Robert Cook, retired wildlife ecologist, National Park Service, will talk about vernal pools and how they nurture many species of native plants and wildlife–some of them especially adapted to the ponds’ unique conditions. Some amphibians even undertake annual migrations based on the ephemeral nature of these wetlands. Bob Cook’s 40 years of experience monitoring vernal pond amphibians at Cape Cod National Seashore will inform his presentation, which will include an update on the health and status of vernal pond critters in the Seashore.
This lecture will be held via Zoom. Register HERE, and you’ll receive an email from Zoom with the link to join the webinar.
